Point of Sale (POS) Module - Debit cards
If you have the POS Module setup to accept credit cards, and a customer comes to you with a debit card, the debit card will be accepted IF the debit card is branded as Visa or Mastercard and you accept Visa and Mastercard. If a customer comes with a Mastercard-branded debit card, and you only accept Visa (do NOT accept Mastercards at your locale) then the transaction will be declined.
When a debit transaction is processed, there is no need for the customer PIN number, as we do not process it through our gateway solution. The Transaction is processed as if it was a credit card, only the money is immediately drawn from the card holder's checking account. Check with your bank to see if this will adversely affect your transaction rates.
